What Is Pastocity In Graphology And Handwriting Analysis?

We have been taught to write in a certain way while we were in school, but how many of you still continue to write in the same way? The answer is ‘no one’. Handwriting is likely to undergo a lot of change with time and age. There is a gradual change in the size and shape of the letters according to your likes and dislikes. Now, since your brain monitors your preferences, it can be rightly said that your thought process influences your handwriting. And a simple analysis of your handwriting can reveal a lot about your personality. In this blog, you will learn about handwriting analysis and pastocity in graphology

Why does our handwriting keep changing?

Our personalities directly affect our handwriting, which is why our handwriting changes as we keep growing. Handwriting is how we express our psychology in words and symbols using paper and pen; interestingly, all these symbols are just as unique as our individual DNA. When you get an idea about a person’s handwriting, you will get to know whose script you are reading by just looking at it- like you can recognize someone from their picture. Graphology is based on the concept that every person has different handwriting, and this is because each writer has a unique personality.

Hence, it is the deviation of the writer from the handwriting pattern taught in school that helps expert graphologists easily assess and get an exact idea about the capabilities and character of the writer. Graphologists are highly fortunate in this case since they learn about the writer’s psychology, which helps them during their interaction sessions.

Benefits of handwriting analysis

Handwriting is a completely universal skill that does not necessarily discriminate based on race, color, sex, or creed. Graphology is known for offering an unbiased outline of your unique behavior and personality, even in your absence. It is a blend of science and art. It is considered a science since it studies the movement and structure of written forms- angles, spacing, slants, and the pressure exerted on the pen while writing. Likewise, it is also an art because a graphologist must constantly keep in mind the total context based on which the writing is happening.

Writing comprises three things- form, movement, and spacing. As per the studies conducted by graphologists, all these variations are likely to occur in writing and tell a lot about the psychological interpretation attached to them. Expert graphologists can do accurate analysis.

What are the uses of graphology?

Have you always been correct and a good judge of character? Or have you happened to find at some point that your first impression is the wrong one? Appearances can turn out deceptive, but it is never the same with handwriting. Handwriting never lies. It reveals a person’s feelings, thought processes, and behavior and does this immediately and directly. It helps you get an idea about the motivation working behind the individual’s actions and also outlines the propensity of the writer to ensure proper behavior in a manner that is not expected.

Besides examining behavior, graphology also reads the subconscious mind or finds out the whys behind an action, offering information otherwise difficult to establish in a quick time and in any other way. This makes graphology a very important tool for practical use in various situations. Some of the ideal situations where you can use graphology are:

  • Recruitment
  • Selection of management
  • Corporate training
  • Career fairs
  • Personality profiling
  • Historical profiling
  • Forensic and document examination
  • Compatibility tests
  • Family and child guidance
pastocity in graphology

What is Pastocity in Graphology?

While we have been discussing so much about graphology in all our blogs, an important part yet to be covered is ‘Pastocity in Graphology’. So what is exactly defined as Pastocity in Graphology?

Pastocity comes from the word pasty meaning a stroke that has a doughy and thick appearance. In other words, pastocity is better defined as the extra flow of ink from your pen to the paper.

Pastocity can be either positive or negative. It can be found in all three handwriting zones, indicating how our senses can be easily gratified negatively or positively. You will also get an idea about extra gratification of at least one or more senses in a positive or negative manner.

Below is detail about pastocity and what different factors related to its meaning.

Positive Pastocity

Positive pastocity is your preferences and love for life- good food, dress, and music. People who have positive pastocity are the ones using a thick pen. People with positive pastocity tend to be creative with their writing.

They ensure that the writing is clean, well written, and good to the eyes. If you have positive pastocity, you will take utmost care of your family and dear ones. You will be in love with positive things and positive people.

Negative Pastocity

If you have a negative pastocity, you are likely to rewrite or scratch your writing a lot of time. This is followed by the kind of love you enjoy watching some graphic violent movies. Those with negative pastocity can keep scratching the pen on the paper, have illegible handwriting with extra flow of ink which looks unpleasant to the eyes, and enjoy finding others in pain and distress.

There are instances where people have a combination of positive and negative pastocity within their personality. While some may have high positive pastocity say 90% pastocity and 10% negative pastocity, some may portray 10% positive pastocity and 90% negative pastocity.

According to pastocity in graphology, positive pastocity in your personality shows how much you care and love everything. In case you feature negative pastocity, handwriting exercises can come to your rescue, ensuring you lead a better life overcoming the negative pastocity scenario.
